Labour and Delivery Class is a local, community-oriented prenatal class available to those who want professional, preparatory classes during their pregnancy. This class presents realistic, relevant and factual information shared by RN’s who work on the Maternity unit. It is designed to reflect our current philosophy and practice related to single room maternity care. The information included will cover what to expect in the weeks and days before labour begins, when to come to the hospital, comfort measures for both early and active stages of labour, pushing and delivery. An overview of what to expect in the first few hours after delivery will also be discussed. This knowledge will give you insight into what to expect throughout your birthing experience.
